AudioVine is
professional and experienced alternative rock band
that has been playing in the local music scene now
for the last 14 months. Audiovine has now acquired
the right line up, which is support by a strong
alternative song list's with a visually stimulating
performance.
AudioVine is a "live" band comprising of Monica
Lawson on rhythm guitar/main vocals Tony Waldock on
bass/ vocals, Keith Owen on drums and Wayne Gunner
on lead guitar/backing vocalist, Audiovine has been
embraced with accomplished musicians with many
years of musical and entertainment experience.
We realise the need nowadays to control the overall
volume levels at some venues and as such have a
range of amplifiers, equipment and PA system gear
to cater for most audiences and venue
situations.
Our song list is varied and can range from classic
"listening" sets, to more up tempo rock, to
traditional alternative rock sets specialising in
some of the modern classics tracks from recent rock
bands like Madonna, Michelle Branch, Green Day, Foo
Fighters, Pearl Jam, Powder finger, Living End,
Jet, Incubus, Linkin Park, INXS, Thirsty Merc, The
Vines and Led Zeppelin, Lenny Kravitz.
Our band members have proper indemnity insurance in
place from Duck For Cover Entertainers Group inc.
which indemnifies any Principal who hires us to
perform or on whose land or premises we temporarily
occupy for the purpose of performing.
Monica Lawson - Main Vocals and Rhythm
Guitar
Monica is an experienced vocalist and an
accomplished rhythm guitarist that can cover a wide
range of styles from contemporary rock, rhythm and
blues, country and rockabilly right through to
alternative and heavy rock, Monica brings a wealth
of working knowledge and "know how" to front a
professional line-up like AudioVine.
Small in stature but packin' a 'huge' voice Monica
can play it "sweet" to create the right atmosphere
for a restaurant, wedding or pet naming ceremony;
but that's like having a 351 Chevy you only drive
in the supermarket car park. With a professional
and talented line-up Monica owns the stage of any
gig where there is an audience who want to
rock.
Monica has played countless venues across the
country from Hobart to Brisbane, or from Byron Bay
to Bonalbo. As a soloist, in duos, trios, countless
bands and, even in a swing style big band, Monica
has a vocal range and musical repertoire which
allows her to find the right song for the moment,
venue and her audience.
Well regarded by fellow musicians Monica has worked
with and/or supported Charlie Muswelwhite, Inner
Circle, Steve Gilpin/Mi-Sex, The Bourkenback Boys,
The Villains, Ed Kuepper and The Paladins. Monica's
contribution to the Far North Coast N.S.W. music
scene was acknowledged with an award for the Best
Female Performer.
Having moved to the Illawarra Monica has joined
this talented lineup and is planning to make a huge
impact on the local music scene. With "top class"
production, songs rehearsed to the final drum beat
and sporting a killer song list you should try to
get along and hear AudioVine now.
Wayne Gunner - Lead Guitar
Wayne Gunner has been a solid participant in the
Illawarra music scene playing professionally with
such bands as Small Change, Mister Meaner and The
Great Bite to name a few. Having played
consistently in Sydney, across NSW and interstate
and with several residencies with the
aforementioned bands, Wayne has come to be known
for his "stage presence" and persona and loves
nothing better than to perform to the audience.
A playing style developed from many varied
influences over the years has given Wayne a unique
sound and has earned him the respect of his peers.
Having now been part of Audio Vine since September
2007, he has already contributed further to the
strong sounds of this band and undoubtedly there
will be much more to come.
These days Wayne believes his major influences lean
towards Alternative rock, Audioslave, Stone Temple
Pilots, Incubus, Screaming Jets, just to name a
few.
Keith Owen - Drums
Coming from a music loving family, Keith was first
introduced to the Drums as a teenager in High
School. He quickly developed a passion for the
instrument and found he had a natural ability. He
was encouraged by his peers to continue to play and
develop his own style. Keith played in various High
School bands and became a regular on the local
music scene by the age of 16.
In 2001 Keith joined local rock outfit Segression
and became reknown for his powerful and precision
drumming. He recorded Segression's self titled
album which gained critical acclaim landing Drum
Medias CD of the week. Keith also completed a
national tour with the band.
In 2004 Segression went on to do a side project,
Side Effect X. Keith recorded their album 'Life'
before the band went their own way in 2005. In
2006/2007 Keith worked with Sax Appeal, a
dance/funk band from Sydney working primarily at
corporate events.
Late 2007 sees Keith returning to his rock roots
joining local band Audiovine. Keith musical
influences are quite extensive, ranging from
alternative and world known rock band's including -
The Foo Fighters, John Butler Trio, Thirsty Merc,
Rage against the Machine, to Grinspoon.
Tony Waldock - Bass Guitar
Tony is one of the main driving forces within
AudioVine and is a highly professional bass player
having performed in bands consistently for the past
seventeen years. Tony is held in high regard and
known throughout the music industry performing
throughout Australia with such bands as B.O.B
(Bunch of Bricks) for three years, Seven Lives in
Sydney for eighteen months and was a part of the
"Bon Jovi" show out of Sydney playing state-wide
3-4 nights every week. Some of his more noted
accomplishments include supporting big name acts
such as Taxi Ride, Screaming Jets, Ian Moss,
Radiators and Wrecking Crew.
"Tony is also a prolific writer, and to date has
co-written three albums with his own original line
ups as well as a number of collaborations with some
of Australia's leading well known writers and
producers". Audiovine believe they have the
combination and the dedication to produce something
with major impact to the music industry.
Locally Tony was part of the highly acclaimed
Tornadoes playing bass for them for over seven
years when they were performing regularly at the
Dapto Leagues Club and Shellharbour Leagues club.
Tony also co-founded and played with "The Edge".
His philosophy is simply
" It isn't bragging
if you can back it up" and he believes it's totally
within this bands grasp!
