BLUES MEKANIX
JOHN BROWNRIGG / JOHNNO McFADYEN & BLUES MEKANIX go back to the roots of contemporary music to re-create some of the classic blues tunes of T- Bone Walker / Muddy Waters / John Lee Hooker / Jimmy Reed / Lightnin' Hopkins / Howlin' Wolf / Bobby Parker / Willie Dixon / Bo Diddley / Sonny Boy Williamson / Mose Allison & B.B King. Performed with a 'today edge' not unlike that of Gary Moore and Robert Cray, along with interpretations of Van Morrison, Ray Charles, Bill Withers, John Lennon, Sam Cooke and many more of the soulful greats. This is a classic blues band with a contemporary edge and the groove to improvise and knowledge to pull it off.

BLUES MEKANIX aim to reflect the feelings of the blues as preached by the greats & their kith n kin. Blues with a JAZZ bent & SOUL feel.
Things people have said about the BLUES MEKANIX
The MEKANIX present them (the songs) all with the feel of 'true bluesers' then add a few jazzy licks simmering over a soulful vocal.

The MEKANIX present the Blues as felt through the eyes, ears, heart, soul & mind.

BLUES MEKANIX Great musicianship. A rockin' good time guaranteed.

About: JOHN BROWNRIGG vocals, rhythm guitar
John worked at and was weaned on all the Merseybeat clubs in Liverpool UK during the Blues roots explosion of the 60's and nowadays has his own brick on the Famous Cavern Club UK wall of fame.   John is a successful writer, singer & performer with bands - The Feelgoods, The Sect & Soul & Inspiration with co-vocalist Barry Leef.

Early Aussie independent label 'Havoc' released John's own album 'Star Spangled Banger', with Gill Matthews (Aztecs)  still a Classic Aussie Blues recording to this day. Songwriting with Jim Keays ex Masters Apprentices. Delivered 'Boy from the Stars' featuring guitar virtuoso Phil Manning also with Duncan Maguire and Mark Kennedy. This CD has recently been re released by Glenn A Baker.   John shared the bill with the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Sonny Boy Williamson, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, The Animals, Rolling Stones & Small Faces.   He then moved to Australia and presented the blues roots music that he'd been weaned on and joined the Aussie music scene at several SUNBURY Festivals during the 1970's.

John is no wannabe, John is no faker. He is the real thing baby. He's a living witness to The Blues roots 'rock n roll' revolution. Share the experience, feel the spirit, re-live the times. Sing da bluez with da man who's just returned from gigs at The Cavern Club UK. John and the BLUES MEKANIX aim at entertaining their audience with humour, great music and, most of all, having a good time together. Featuring the guitar virtuosity of Johnno McFadyen.
About: JOHNNO McFADYEN Guitars
Johnno grew up as a kid in the 60's listening to the music of the day including Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, BB King, The Beatles and started to pick up the guitar to emulate the sounds he was hearing on the radio. After a few years he started to play his own brand of Blues/Rock music which led him to play in local bands around the Newcastle area before moving to Sydney where he was picked to perform in an international showband where he played all over the world including the USA, Canada and all over Asia. John toured for most of the 90's and then returned to Newcastle to pursue a career as a country/blues songwriter and lead guitarist in many bands including  The Blues Mekanix.

During his travels John got to play with many different guitarist's with varying styles from Blues to Rock to Country melding into  a unique style all of his own.

Johnno has been describes as Hendrix, Clapton, Santana and Chuck Berry all rolled into one and has been called one of the best Blues/Rock guitarist in the southern hemisphere, so if you like your blues with style come and FEEL how a good Blues guitarist sounds....
Blues + Beatles + Soul + Rock N Roll = BLUES MEKANIX
