Covered with Larry Gerace with Eddy Barilaa are a duo based in Sydney, Australia
Covered, are powered by a compact 2000 watt sound system, catering for rooms up to 500 people. Using state of the art technology,with a supercharged guitar sound, Covered can produce a full band sound which has to be heard to believed. Playing songs ranging from Dean Martin to Greenday, all tastes are catered for.
No matter what the occasion be it corporate, wedding, function, pub, club,restaurant, Covered, has it covered.
Specialised shows can also be organized including, a classical guitar set, and an Elvis tribute.
A wide range of music can also be played between sets
Audience participation is also possible if someone wants to get up and sing.
Eddy Barila has been playing guitar for over 35 years. From an early age he was captured by the instrument and has never looked back Eddy completed his A.M.E.B eighth grade in classical guitar, but decided he was a rocker at heart.
Teaching for the last 30 years, he also co wrote jingles with his singing teacher at the time, Steve Baker, including The Sea Eagles football clubs theme song, which was sung by Doug Parkinson. in the late 80’s.
In the early 90’s Eddy was signed to Warner Chappell working on original material. He then formed Mylk, a funk rock based 3 piece who supported bands like Skunkhour,The Truth,The Radiators, Spy Vs Spy and played their own shows for over 7 years.
The late 90’s saw Eddy Barila and fellow guitarist Bill Kotevski, formed Acumen, a classical jazz based guitar duo. Acumen released an EP featuring their own interpretations of popular classical pieces .
Between 1999 and 2004, Eddy Barila worked as a sound engineer/producer/session musician at Wirra Willa Studios. Here he played on and produced numerous albums including Inabeat, on which he played all the instruments with vocalist Darius Gakas. It was there he met Larry Gerace, whom he produced on his album,” Larry Sings Elvis”. Deciding putting their talents together could produce something interesting, they recorded their first album featuring all original material “Standing In Line”-Larry Gerace With Eddy Barila.
2005 saw the release of their new album “Covered”, which gave birth to the Covered show. Combining their own songs with the world’s greatest covers, Covered provide a great live experience with a high level of musicianship, and most of all good times.
In recent years Eddy has played on many independent releases, as well as recording many local acts. 2013 saw the reuniting of Larry Gerace and Eddy Barila, resulting in Under Cover, a reworking of 12 classic songs, plus 2 originals.
2016 Eddy Barila traveled to China and Lithuania doing various television and concert performances. 2017 Larry Gerace and Eddy Barila release The Blues. A compilation of Elvis blues songs.
Eddy Barila currently teaches guitar at The Wizard of Oz Funland, and has joined the Wizard of Oz show in which he plays the Tinman, as well as other characters.
