His ability to entertain all ages and all musical tastes knows no bounds. He has surrounded himself with some outstanding musicians (all hand-picked) for a multiple of projects to enable him to present a variety of different formats all featuring his unique talent and style.

Chalkie White has been performing since he was a young boy. With his family heritage coloured with a musical background, music was a major focus in the lives of his entire family, so it was a given that Chalkie would follow in the family tradition into the music business.

The lure of the Gympie Muster Talent Search enticed him to have ‘one last crack at the major award’ and in 2001 he won! The Gympie win catapulted him to the CMAA College of Country Music (from which he graduated with flying colours) and a performance on the Main Stage at Gympie Muster 2002, plus an opporunity to compete at the Norfolk Island Country Music Trans Tasman Entertainer of the Year awards. Following the headiness of that win, Chalkie was a Grand-finalist in Tamworth Country Music Festival’s Starmaker 2002 competition. Fast Forward to 2012 and Chalkie has had a re-awakening.

His focus is strong and he has multiple projects to enable him to present a variety of different formats all featuring his unique talent and style.Recently married with a Debut album in 2012 Chalkie is poised for success.

From early days busking (before he was old enough to enter licensed premises) where he honed the talent of grabbing the attention of passers by, to the streets of Tamworth where Adam Brand later recalls he tried to imitate Chalkie because he was so good at busking.

Once Chalkie was of legal age, his career started to take shape with his experience in many different bands, duos and solo appearances where his training ground was “on the road” and his tutors were fellow musicians of all ages and backgrounds. His bandmates over the years reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of the music industry.

Talent Quests and Country Music Festivals were Chalkie’s specialty and he has awards from all areas of the east coast of Australia to his merit.

In 1999, Chalkie moved his then young family to Boyne Island in Queensland and put his performing career on hold for a while to try to settle down to family life. However the lure of the Gympie Muster Talent Search enticed him to have ‘one last crack at the major award’ and to Chalkie’s surprise – in 2001 he won!

This then led to Chalkie’s return to the stage and a return also to the South Coast of New South Wales where his roots were. The Gympie win catapulted hims to the CMAA College of Country Music (from which he graduated with flying colours) and a performance on the Main Stage at Gympie Muster 2002, plus an opportunity to compete at the Norfolk Island Country Music Trans Tasman Entertainer of the Year awards. Following the headiness of that win, Chalkie was a Grand-finalist in Tamworth Country Music Festival’s Starmaker 2002 competition.

Chalkie remains a unique talent – although it formed his early career, Chalkie is not strictly Country … his ability to entertain all ages and all musical tastes knows no bounds. Chalkie has matured to become one of the South Coast’s most popular entertainers. His voice strengthens with this maturity and his guitar prowess continues to surprise.

Ardastra is a first class line up of musicians that are versatile enough to pay the corporate dinner function and dance party in the same gig.

Ardastra is a first class line up of musicians that are versatile enough to pay the corporate dinner function and dance party in the same gig. They cover artists such as Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, Sade, James Brown, Sister Sledge, India Arie, Christina Aguilera, Rhianna, Missy Higgins, Screaming Jets and Johnnie Diesel.

Ardastra was formed by husband and wife duo R-jay and Nakia Bolt in Sydney, Australia, in 2005. Their vision was to create music to compliment a first class voice. In early 2008, husband and wife combination Greg and Kylie Spencer joined Ardastra. Now with a full band behind ‘the voice’ Ardastra is realising its full potential as an artist.

Nakia
Originally from Nassau, Bahamas, Nakia became a professional singer during her teen years performing at many world class resorts in the Bahamas, including ‘Sandals Resort’ on the island of New Providence, and ‘Atlantis’ and ‘The Riu’ on Paradise Island.

Many international tourists chose the distinguished Old Forte Bay Clubhouse (situated in Lyford Cay, on the island of New Providence,
Bahamas) as the venue for their special function. Ranging from weddings, to wedding anniversaries and 50th birthday celebrations guests were astonished at Nakias vocal ability. She is a first class act gaining extensive international experience with the Bahamas National Youth Choir travelling to several countries including China, Scotland, Canada, The United States of America and France.

The band behind Nakia
The band behind Nakia are R-jay on guitar, Greg on Drums and Kylie on Bass. Influenced by genres such as Rock, Blues, RnB and Jazz the band provide the right style to complement Nakias voice.

R-jay is an accomplished guitarist whose influences include Slash, Steve Vai and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is blessed with the talent to overplay, but via a development of an appreciation for many genres of music, he doesn’t. He is a key founding member of Ardastra.

Greg developed his drumming style in his early teens listening to heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden. This coupled with his experience, playing in several rock bands and disco bands, has brought a more relaxed and conservative, yet confident drumming style to Ardastra.

Kylie’s influence by rock, disco and funk, allows her to provide Ardastra with a strong bassline, however she is also a valued member of Ardastra for her strong and confident backing vocals.

Ardastra is available to play at your next special function. If you require entertainment at you next dinner party, dance music, or special function Ardastra can facilitate your needs.

The Jolene Theory began as just that – a theory. How do popular songs sound when filtered through the minimalist lineup of just acoustic guitar/vocals and drums?

Ever wondered how the synth-driven hard rock of Van Halen’s ‘Jump’ would sound if covered by Johnny Cash?

How about Rod Stewart’s classic ‘Maggie May’ performed by a reggae band? Australian Crawl via Latin America?

Not to mention a skiffle driven version of ‘Karma Chameleon’ or a rockabilly ‘Mrs. Robinson’.

And what if, instead of an entire band onstage, all of these styles were performed by just TWO people? One of whom, when not playing a standup cocktail drumkit, uses whatever impromptu percussion is at hand: mic stands, windows, bar stools, table tops, even his sidekick’s acoustic guitar.

Sounds good in theory right?

Well, The Jolene Theory began as exactly that – a theory. With a mutual love of music and showmanship, DC (acoustic guitar & vocals) and Red (cocktail drums & percussion), applied one simple philosophy when auditioning tracks for their songlist: can the song be stripped down to its most basic elements and be reinterpreted with its core entertainment value still intact?

And so The Jolene Theory was born.

Infusing latin, reggae, jazz, blues, skiffle, rockabilly and bluegrass with their own diverse backgrounds in tribute shows and rock bands, The Jolene Theory aspire to thrill with equal parts groove, melody, improvisation and showmanship as they deconstruct and rebuild the fabric of popular music in every performance.

Artists such as all given the Jolene Theory touch – The Beatles, Led Zeppelin,The Police, The Who, Styx, David Bowie, Queen, The Rolling Stones…
Popular music, Johnny Cash, The Hot Rats, The Police, The Beatles, Mumford & Sons, The Violent Femmes
