Show includes all of the Elvis’s favourites from throughout his career, as well as songs from his movies, beautiful gospel numbers and a few that aren’t as well known as Elvis songs but that may surprise you.

Rod has called his show ‘The Essence of Elvis’ as he does not want to be known as an Elvis Impersonator, rather as a singer/guitarist who pays tribute to Elvis Presley – one of the greatest performers of all time.

Rod is a seasoned musician with an exceptional voice, who has taken his act to many parts of Australia.

He has been performing Elvis songs since he was a mere 15 years old, and whilst living on the Gold Coast he performed his ‘Elvis’ show, as well as a selection of other favourite tunes from many different artists in several local venues.

Rod then moved to Moruya, on the south coast of NSW in 2000, where he collaborated with other local musicians before again going solo.

Rod went to the Parkes Elvis Festival in 2007 and upon receiving an awesome response from the crowd has not looked back. He again appeared in Parkes and Forbes in 2009 and 2011 (where he received standing ovations) and has been rebooked at the Parkes Services Club for 2012.

Rod was also well received in Tasmania in 2010 and 2011 performing a string of sold out shows where the demand for encores seemed go forever. The 2012 tour is looking to be even bigger!

The current ‘Essence of Elvis’ show includes all of the Elvis’s favourites from throughout his career, as well as songs from his movies, beautiful gospel numbers and a few that aren’t as well known as Elvis songs but that may surprise you.

The costumes are authentic replicas custom made in the USA and Rod’s light hearted manner on stage as well as his guitar work and those classic ‘Elvis moves’ makes for a great show, always enjoyed by old and new ‘Elvis’ fans alike.

Rod is very versatile and can adapt his show to suit almost any venue, from a lounge bar in a club, to a full show in an auditorium. He is also available for weddings, birthdays and corporate functions.

His ability to entertain all ages and all musical tastes knows no bounds.

Chalkie White has been performing since he was a young boy. With his family heritage coloured with a musical background, music was a major focus in the lives of his entire family, so it was a given that Chalkie would follow in the family tradition into the music business.

From early days busking (before he was old enough to enter licensed premises) where he honed the talent of grabbing the attention of passers by, to the streets of Tamworth where Adam Brand later recalls he tried to imitate Chalkie because he was so good at busking.

Once Chalkie was of legal age, his career started to take shape with his experience in many different bands, duos and solo appearances where his training ground was “on the road” and his tutors were fellow musicians of all ages and backgrounds. His bandmates over the years reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of the music industry.

Talent Quests and Country Music Festivals were Chalkie’s specialty and he has awards from all areas of the east coast of Australia to his merit.

In 1999, Chalkie moved his then young family to Boyne Island in Queensland and put his performing career on hold for a while to try to settle down to family life. However the lure of the Gympie Muster Talent Search enticed him to have ‘one last crack at the major award’ and to Chalkie’s surprise – in 2001 he won!

This then led to Chalkie’s return to the stage and a return also to the South Coast of New South Wales where his roots were. The Gympie win catapulted hims to the CMAA College of Country Music (from which he graduated with flying colours) and a performance on the Main Stage at Gympie Muster 2002, plus an opportunity to compete at the Norfolk Island Country Music Trans Tasman Entertainer of the Year awards. Following the headiness of that win, Chalkie was a Grand-finalist in Tamworth Country Music Festival’s Starmaker 2002 competition.

Chalkie continued to work in the music business, but due to personal circumstances moved about a lot and became a part-time musician and a full-time day worker for some time.

Fast Forward to 2009 and Chalkie has had a re-awakening. His focus is strong and he has surrounded himself with some outstanding musicians (all hand-picked) for a multiple of projects to enable him to present a variety of different formats all featuring his unique talent and style.

Chalkie remains a unique talent – although it formed his early career, Chalkie is not strictly Country … his ability to entertain all ages and all musical tastes knows no bounds. Chalkie has matured to become one of the South Coast’s most popular entertainers. His voice strengthens with this maturity and his guitar prowess continues to surprise.

Ben grew up in the Shoalhaven though moved to Sydney in his early twenties, where he honed his song writing skills, before helping to form the band ‘A Day Late’, an acoustic pop/rock outfit, where Ben sang lead Vocals and played rhythm Guitar. They recorded with producer Stuart Stuart, who played a big part in ‘The Veronicas’ signing to Warner Bros.

The songs they recorded had some local success winning an ABC radio song contest and helped them in being the number one indie band on MP3.com.au for a number of weeks.

During this time Ben also played solo gigs around the city, impressing those who came to see him, with his performing style and vocal range.

Ben moved back to Nowra late 2008 and began writing new songs and recording them in his bedroom before venturing out to start performing solo at such diverse venues as the naval college HMAS Creswell, the Tea Club, Shoalhaven River Boat hire in Terara, and the Nowra Golf Club. Ben quickly landed a steady gig playing covers at the Bottlerocket Cocktail bar playing their ‘Live and Local Sunday Sessions’.

In October 2010 Ben entered the North Nowra Tavern’s ‘Tav’s Got Talent’ and went on to win. Following the competition the local radio stations Power FM and 2ST both had Ben in for a live performance and an interview.

In May 2011, Ben was added to the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre’s books as a local artist for support of touring artists, and supported the Melbourne band ‘Skipping Girl Vinegar’ on their most recent tour.

At present Ben is in the pre production stages of recording an as yet unnamed record with a local producer to be released by the end of the year. Ben creates infectious, heart-felt acoustic pop/rock accompanied by some sweet fingerpickin’ and killer guitar work. Ben very recently released his newest single, ‘Call Today’, which is available on iTunes.

Matt Schlam is like no other.

Back in 1990, he was one of the first modern-day “one-man bands”. When others were using factory set rhythms inside a drum machine, Schlam was programming his own entire songs, accurately, and with bass. Others would use a semi-acoustic or a transistor powered electric guitar, Schlam would punch with a marshall amplifier and a fender telecaster.

Schlam has a massive voice, with accurate control that is unmatched in his current field. After working with some of the biggest names in Australian rock history, Schlam is back, pioneering the solo/duo scene again. All of the backing is prepared professionally in his studio, with album quality sounds, not a general midi setup like most. The result is a real sounding live show, dynamic and intense.

The songlist is meticulously arranged too, a good mix of old and new rock.

With all of this working together, you have a solo act that is in a league of his own.

Matt has put together 3 x 45 minute sets of popular rock covers (brand new and classic) on cubase SX (on his computer) using good studio sounds for backing tracks. Armed with a P.A. he has put together, he has kicked goals at every performance. There has been a 100% success rate in terms of repeat bookings.

Reviews

“The best band (solo act) that we’ve had in here in a long time.”- Roger Kelly, Ent. Manager, Albion Park Bowling Club NSW.

“Being a rock pub, my crowd doesn’t tolerate solo acts on Saturday nights but, you’re different.”- Zac- licensee, Robertson Hotel NSW.

Music artist & solid frontman with the ability to preform to the needs of an audience on all occasions.

Ricky Lynch has dedicated the last 10 years of his career working on his performance as an artist driven by a very emotional ‘raw Acoustic’ sound.

Ricky’s music is superbly delivered minus any backing track, It’s just him, the guitar & and an incredible voice combined to project a lot of energy toward his audience.

His vocal range extends from the heart-felt sounds of Cat Stevens to the excitement of Meatloaf & all consistently performed with every spare burst of energy.

As a curly red-headed, freckly youngster Ricky astounded friends at the dinner table with all types of performances, including many magic tricks that went horribly wrong, “I threw in the magician gig… not for me (laughs)”

He was always keen to perform which led to a position as front-man for Sydney band Nevergrips. Ricky got a little taller, Nevergrips grew apart & things have never looked better for his music career…. he is clearly a solo artist & solid frontman with the ability to mould himself into the needs of an audience on all occasions.
