 Born
in the "Land of Song' Garry has one of the voices for
which Wales is reknowned. Starting at the tender age of
7, Garry's musical apprenticeship started in brass
bands.He progressed through various bands to become part
of the world champion 'Cory' brass band, playing to
packed houses at London's Royal Albert Hall.
During his teens Garry tought himself guitar, and with a
few friends formed the band Racing Cars.He co-wrote the
bands hit "They Shoot Horses Don't They?" and toured the
U.K. and Europe for the next few years. In 1982 Garry
took a major step by leaving a promising career in
Britain to emigrate with his young family to Australia.
He was soon playing in the show band 'The George Boys',
then followed up with the wonderful duo 'True Grit'.
Releasing 2 albums in this time, Garry was also in demand
for his production knowledge and produced 3 albums for
local artists. He also co-wrote a collection of songs
transposed from poems called 'Palace of Dreams'; one of
the songs given 3rd prize by the Tamworth Songwriters
Association.
Garry's musical ability as a singer/ songwriter is well
respected with publishers throughout Australia the U.K.
and America. On stage he can please a wide audience be
they in a club or pub. His song list reads like a top 50
songs for each of the last 50 years with well known
ballads, country & rock songs to get any venue in the
mood. He is one professional entertainer that many other
musicians would love to emulate.
Modest in his talent, Garry gives much of his spare time
to struggling artists, to give back something to an
industry that has given him so much pleasure. Definitely
