Mean Mr
Mustard
Do you long for
the days when you went down to your local venue and saw a
band?
I
mean a real band, you remember? Real guitars, ripping
through some classic riffs, bass that sounded fatter and
wider than Meatloaf's backside, real drums.... you know,
a guy really hitting something, yes the days before
sequencers, dat tapes, drum loops and guys named "Yo Rap
Dude D.M.C": then rockers long no more, Mean Mr Mustard
are here...........
Mean Mr Mustard are a band whose only ethic is to play
real, down home dirty, rock and roll music, hell...these
guys are so cool and groovy they thought a sequencer was
a Danoz Direct Juice extractor, and that a dat tape was
some kind of intestinal infection and drum loops are what
happens when the drummer has one to many Bourbon and
cokes during a set break and falls off his stool.
So if your stuck in the middle of a black night or if
you've had a greenday with your offspring, if you're a
brown eyed girl or even if you're Jessie's girl with or
without brown eyes, get down to the crossroads, grab lido
and shuffle into the roadhouse, get through the doors,
save tonight and hit your local venue, smoke up the
water, roll over your Beethovan and eagle eye some real
rock and roll with Mean Mr
Mustard............................
2005 means exciting times ahead for the Mustards with a
line up change. Drummer Dave Morgan has left the band
being replaced by Matthew Swain along with the addition
of acclaimed vocalist Stuart Hodges.
Matthew Swain has been the engine room in such legendary
bands as The Mirrors, Tite Squeeze & Voodoo Red.
Matthew also drummed on Lloyd's critically acclaimed CD
"Hardlines". More Recently drumming in the Supre Theatre
production of "The Who's Tommy" Rock opera.
Stuart Hodges was also involved in several successful
theatre productions before fronting Voodoo Red, the band
many consider to be "Canberra's last great pub rock
band". Matthew and Stuart bring a wealth of talent and
experience to the new band.
With a limited edition EP in pre production and a full
album on the drawing board, this new beginning is full of
endless possibilities. Marc Davis said recently, " Great
to be out doing gigs with a new lineup. Great band, Great
fun." Make sure you check the new lineup soon.
