Pirate PeteIntroducing Pirate Pete …..

Pirate Pete  first appeared in September, 1989 at the opening of “Underwater World” on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.

Since then he has performed in various formats and venues ranging from shows at Schools and Kindergartens entertaining large groups of children with Pirate Games and music – to roving minstrel and public relations characters in Shopping Centres or Flea and Craft Markets

With Charlie the cockatoo In earlier days you could find this unusual pair busking on street corners and shopping malls (notably the Queen St Mall in Brisbane, Circular Quay in Sydney and the Central Mall in Coffs Harbour)   or anywhere there was people passing.

The Pirate plays guitar and sings Sea Shantys, Australian Colonial music and songs for children. He also hands  out free “Pirate Headbands” to children.

Pirate Pete appeared regularly at  the North Pine Country Market on the northern outskirts of Brisbane  for more than seven years

Pirate Parties at holiday resorts such as the Hyatt Regency, Coolum  is another sphere of activity where the Pirate has been active combining music and Pirate Games.

Pirate Pete has provided the entertainment at more than 400 private birthday parties.

Pirate PeteIn June, 2000 Pirate Pete travelled to Singapore to complete a successful 14 performance engagement at the White Sands Shopping Mall in Pasir Ris

He has performed at Community Festivals and Country Shows including compere of the Childrens Folk Festival  at Maleny on four occasions. Maleny Folk Festival (now known as Woodford Festival) is an annual event which attracts a crowd in excess of 70,000 people.

Pirate Pete and Charlie the cockatoo have appeared in a number of television commercials, several television current affairs type programs, such as “Extra” (Brisbane) and on various news footages. The pair were the subject of a TV special on Brisbane children’s birthday parties.  Sadly, Charlie has passed away and left the Captain to perform solo these days.
